Assistant Location Manager (ALM)
Required for upgrade to Assistant Location Manager.
An upgrade to the ALM category also requires successful completion of the Location Scout course.
DURATION: 2 days (5½ hours per day)

PREREQUISITES: Must be a Member in Good Standing and have completed the TAL course.
Description
The Assistant Location Manager (ALM) course outlines the responsibilities and duties of the Assistant Location Manager. By the end of the course, you will have an understanding of the duties and responsibilities of the ALM within the Locations team and production crew, as well as knowledge of how locations are chosen, prepared, and protected.
Assignment
- Completion of a writing assignment is required between days 1 and 2.
- Upgrade to the ALM (Full Member) category requires successful completion of an upgrade exam.
Supplemental Information
- Expect to spend 2 to 3 hours per week on coursework, including reading and watching videos.
- This course requires participation in small group discussions and activities.
Course Materials
- Materials will be provided online through the DGC BC training website.
Technical Requirements
- A computer with an internet connection to access the course materials.
- Zoom classes require a computer with a functioning webcam, microphone, and a stable internet connection.
Registration
- Registration is by invitation only through Eventbrite for Members who meet the prerequisites.
- If space is available, the course will be advertised in the E-bulletin. Members who do not meet the prerequisite but have worked at least 30 days as a TAL, ALM, or LM may apply by submitting a letter of recommendation from a Full Member ALM or LM along with approval by the Locations Caucus Advisory Committee.
