Location Manager (LM)
Required to upgrade to Location Manager.
DURATION: 3 days (4 hours per day)
FORMATS OFFERED: In-person and Zoom
PREREQUISITES: Must be a Member in Good Standing and have worked a minimum of 100 days as an ALM and/or LM.
Description
The objective of the Location Manager (LM) course is to provide comprehensive and practical training to DGC BC Members aspiring to become Location Managers.
By the end of the course, participants will understand the duties and responsibilities of an LM as a supervisor and within the Locations team and production crew. This course will also deepen their understanding of how locations are chosen, prepared, and protected.
This course complements the knowledge of Locations personnel who have taken the TAL and ALM training, and can also serve as a standalone class for those wishing to upgrade who have been trained on the job.
Supplemental Information
- Expect to spend 2 to 3 hours per week on coursework, including reading and watching videos.
- Participants will be expected to engage in small group discussions during class.
- Upgrade to the LM category also requires successful completion of an upgrade exam.
Course Materials
- Materials will be provided online through the DGC BC training website.
Technical Requirements
- A computer with an internet connection to access the course materials.
- Zoom classes require a computer with a functioning webcam, microphone, and a stable internet connection.
Registration
- Registration is by invitation only through Eventbrite for Members who meet the prerequisite.
- If space is available, the course will be advertised in the E-bulletin. Members who do not meet the prerequisite may submit a request to attend, which will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the Locations Caucus Advisory Committee.
