Description
Film Leadership Essentials is a 4-hour interactive workshop designed to develop strong leadership skills in the demanding film industry environment. The workshop is ideal for both new supervisors and experienced supervisors who are new to the film industry. It will focus on:
- Discovering your personal leadership style
- Understanding what motivates individuals
- Effective and assertive communication
- Recognizing sources of conflict
- Providing instruction, setting expectations, and delivering feedback
- Taking care of yourself so you can lead more effectively
Think about the best leader you’ve ever encountered—this workshop will help you uncover their secrets and integrate those skills into your own leadership toolbox.
Caution: Some material discussed in this class may be triggering for individuals, particularly those experiencing the effects of trauma or PTSD. Efforts will be made to provide warnings throughout the day.
Supplemental Information
- This course has a short pre-class assignment.
- You will be expected to participate in small group activities during class.
Course Materials
- Materials will be provided online through the DGC BC training website.
Technical Requirements
- A computer with an internet connection to access the course materials and participate in the Zoom class.
- Zoom classes require a computer with a functioning webcam, microphone, and a stable internet connection.
- This course uses Mentimeter, an interactive presentation tool. It may be helpful to have a second device (e.g. cellphone) for use during class.
Registration
- This course is open to eligible Logbook Holders in Good Standing.
- Registration is by invitation only through Eventbrite.
