Additional Assistant Director - Background Coordinator (AAD-BKC)
Required to upgrade to Additional Assistant Director – Background Coordinator.
As of January 1, 2025, this course is required for 3rd ADs to list on the Weekly Availability List in the AAD-BKC category.

Description
Through lectures and visual examples, this course will cover the duties and responsibilities of the Background Coordinator, the UBCP contract, and how to complete production paperwork. Important questions will be addressed on managing background performers, using communication skills effectively, and being a part of the Assistant Director team. By the end of the day, participants will have created a booklet of vital information that will serve as a reference guide in the role of Background Coordinator.
Note: This course does not teach how to set background. Please see the Art of Setting Background course to learn how to set background performers.

- Materials will be provided online through the DGC BC training website.
Technical Requirements
- Participants will need a computer with an internet connection to access the course materials.
- Zoom classes require a computer with a functioning webcam, microphone, and a stable internet connection.
Registration
Invitations are emailed to Members based on a priority system (subject to change):
- Wave 1: Associate Members working as AAD-BKCs and Full Members in the 3rd AD category.
- Wave 2: All remaining Associate Members.
