Alexander DeSouza is a 1st assistant picture editor and director. Discovering his love for the movies when he was just 13 years old, Alexander got his first break while in film school interning as an assistant editor at Sinking Ship Entertainment and later, Cineflix. Through being exposed to the world of post-production, Alexander has gone to work on a variety of documentary, lifestyle and reality shows having managed the delivery of more than 50 hours of television to networks around the world including CBC, Discovery Channel, Hollywood Suite, Super Channel and UKTV. In 2020, Alexander joined Toronto based Go Button Media as a Technical Post Producer where he pioneered and expanded their post-production department.

As a director, Alexanders films have been screened internationally. They have premiered at Canadian Screen Academy qualifying festivals including Toronto Reel Asian, Yorkton, Willson Oakville and on platforms including CBC Arts, Film Shortage and ShortsTV. Alexander holds a BFA in Film from York University and is an alumni of the 2019 Reykjavik Film Festival Talent Lab. He is a member of the Canadian Cinema Editors Association, BAFTA connect and a voting member of the Canadian Screen Academy.
