Dean Bernard - BIO As one of the early Black, First Assistant Directors in Canada, Dean has helped pave the way for more diverse sets by learning and honing his craft on commercials, music videos, television series (scripted and reality), short and feature length films, and documentaries. His years of experience working in the film industry as an assistant director, director and producer has given him a vast and foundational knowledge of the industry that allows him to problem solve and make productions happen efficiently. If a script is a puzzle, Dean is the puzzle master. His efficiency, energy, expertise and ability to problem solve are all done with good humour, a sense of fun, and a commanding voice.
