Jason Clarke is a multiple award-winning Production Designer and Art Director based in Toronto, Canada. With a career spanning over 20 years, Jason has held the positions of Assistant Art Director, Graphic Designer, Set Designer, Art Director, and Production Designer in that time.
He has run the gamut from low budget indie productions to multimillion dollar studio features, acquiring a phenomenal skillset and creating collaborative experiences to make intelligent, strategic, and creative decisions that he brings to each project, whether it’s for big or small screens.
Career highlights include David Gordon Green’s Snow Angels; Michael Suscy’s Grey Gardens for HBO (which won the Art Director’s Guild Award for Excellence in Production Design—Jason was Graphic Designer on the team); Clement Virgo’s miniseries The Book of Negroes for BET and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (which garnered both the Director’s Guild of Canada Award and the Canadian Screen Award for Best Production Design).
Jason’s Production Design credits include Clement Virgo’s multi award-winning feature Brother, for which he won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Production Design; Mark O’Brien’s feature film directorial debut, The Righteous, which earned Jason a Directors Guild of Canada Award nomination for Production Design. You can also see him credited in Netflix’s Black Mirror  (episode “Ark Angel”, directed by Jodie Foster), along with Neil Jordan’s Greta, Lone Scherfig’s The Kindness of Strangers, and actor Viggo Mortensen’s feature directorial debut, Falling.
Most recently, Jason served as Production Designer for Mark OBriens up and coming horror/thriller The Voices of Our Mother as well as a Production Designer on Viggo Mortensen’s newest film, the 1860s western, The Dead Don’t Hurt, which premiered at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), and as Art Director for The Shrouds, the latest chiller from acclaimed director David Cronenberg.
