Location Scout
British Columbia District Council
Before joining the industry as a location scout in late 2018, I covered the capital region's film and television production for 36 years for the Victoria Times Colonist, so I have a longstanding familiarity with the community, its social nooks and crannies and access to decision-makers whose cooperation can substantially benefit production during the local industry's growth. I believe that having had a profile in local media has stood me in good stead with regards to my work as a location scout in and around Victoria, B.C. I'm strongly aware of set-etiquette, production procedures and so on after having visited dozens of film sets over the years for stories and interviews. Skills: Writing, editing, photography and communicating with people in a non-aggressive way, culled from years of experience interviewing people. I'm very detail-oriented and like to think out of the box as much as possible in finding fresh locations for a variety of projects. I also have a performance background in theatre and film, and have done voiceover work etc... I have also done EPK work and am comfortable interviewing talent on-camera and creating pertinent questions.
