Profile Overview

Hi, I’m Gemma! I am excited to be an Apprentice in the Guild Apprenticeship Program’s 2025 cohort. As a soon to be Bachelor of Interior Design graduate from Toronto Metropolitan University, I am thrilled to be entering a career in film and tv (set design) as a Trainee Assistant Art Director.

My design process is informed by narrative, I believe that space is an active part of the design that has as much character and personality as the people who are within it. My technical proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino3D, Adobe Suite and Twinmotion rendering allow me to effectively communicate my design work.

Additionally I have exposed myself to building and fabrication methods, with experience in Laser Cutting, 3D printing, and CNC file setup. I continually work to have a well-rounded skill set and refine my knowledge of design strategy and production.

My education in Interior Design has given me a strong foundation of conceptualization, drafting, modelling, building construction, and visualization. I look forward to learning about the world of film and production, and contributing to the DGC’s excellence in the Canadian screen-based industry.
