Alan Chu is a DGA & DGC 1st AD. An engineer by training, he pivoted to entertainment, starting with Oliver Stone’s production company on films like Natural Born Killers and Any Given Sunday. He later worked in visual effects and as a production executive in Beijing on Rian Johnson's Looper. Alan discovered his passion for 1st AD work while helping on an indie film. Fluent in French and Chinese, he is sought after by international productions. In 2023, he graduated from the Shondaland/Netflix Producer Inclusion Initiative.
