Renner was at the helm of the STX production for Lori Evans-Taylor's Black List winning script Bed Rest produced in Winnipeg by Rhonda Baker locally. She also helped prep the movie PREY for Disney + last year. Renner launched NBC Universal's children's Sci Fi movie directed by Sean MacNamara, Aliens Stole my Body, which garnered an Emmy for SPFX. She also works as a Supervising Producer and Creative Executive Producer on Crown Media (Hallmark) projects, including the well-received Christmas in Evergreen series. Looking back, when Jacquelyn Renner decided to find out what life was like on the other side of the camera, she had no idea she would soon become a respected member of Canada's film community. Although she was born in Canada, she took the long way home from Vienna, after modelling for 5 years in Europe, to become a supervisor in retail fashion travelling through the USA & managing stores across Western Canada. When Renner set her sights on the film industry, she made a lateral move to Production Co-ordinating (IATSE 891) on her first feature after a stint in advertising as a client services manager, coordinating commercials. Soon, Renner became the person to turn to to PM many of Canada's favourite feature films like Sweeney's Last Wedding, the only Western Canadian movie to ever open Toronto International Film Festival or award winning "Suddenly Naked. The financially savvy ex-model became known for bringing in a film on budget without cutting creative corners. After years of living out of suitcases in Europe, made Renner a natural choice when shooting abroad. She garnered a reputation for taking films out on the road, having lived in Toronto, Hamburg, Zurich, Vienna. She has worked in Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, Alberta, Northwest Territories and scouted extensively through BC and Alberta for AO, a French (France) movie about the last Neanderthal. She spent three months in Malta on "A Previous Engagement" starring Juliet Stevenson managing crew in five languages and several currencies. As Co-Executive Producer and Line Producer on Laurent Firode's My First Wedding in Montreal. Renner took a hiatus to write for a few years and then came back big with Meditation Park, a well-received feature by Mina Shum with Sandra Oh (Greys Anatomy) and the great female action hero Cheng PeiPei (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon). Other favorite projects are humorous films with Anne Wheeler directing, Marine Life or Bob the Butler with Brooke Shields and Tom Greene. Working on comedy is a dream job! On a more serious note Producer/ Director Marie Clements' well-received film, Red Snow, was one of her most recent passion projects. "I can't resist dong a script that moves me as much as a great novel."
