Picture Editor Luke Sargent's work has been seen across Canada and the U.S on TV stations such as Disney, BBC, Syfy, APTN, CBC, and SuperChannel and his films have played world class festivals like Cannes, Tenerife,TIFF, Whistler as well as at the Smithsonian Institute of New Mexico. Luke has edited drama, comedy, sci-fi, kids, animation, VR, docs, shorts, scripted TV and five feature-length films. In 2006 Luke began as an assistant editor with doc legends, Banger Films, where he learned under A-List editors L. Grootenboer, W. Hallam Martin, and C. Donaldson. In 2012 Luke graduated from the Editor's Film Lab at the Canadian Film Centre (CFC), and soon after began editing indie feature films. In 2015 Luke joined the Director's Guild of Canada (DGC) as Picture Editor, that year cutting 11 episodes of the new Fresh TV series, Backstage. In February 2018 Luke directed his first documentary The Love Songs of Oedipus Rex for CBC Short Docs, where he acted in the roles of director, producer, cinematographer and editor.
