Profile Overview

Matt has been designing sets for scripted entertainment for 20 years. He worked as a Set Designer on series such as The Strain and The Expanse, and features including Pacific Rim, Crimson Peak, and Suicide Squad. He received an Emmy nomination for Art Direction on Amazon series Annedroids. Matt was Production Designer for the darkly comedic FXX series Man Seeking Woman and genre-defying indie gem Patch Town. In his role as Supervising Art Director of Paramount Plus flagship series Star Trek Discovery, he was instrumental in establishing the "Holodeck"- Canadas first Virtual Production Stage.

Matts designs for short films have received acclaim, with Patch Town winning Best Short Film at the Directors Guild of Canada Awards. As Art Director, he was nominated for an Emmy for Achievement in Art Direction/Set Decoration/Scenic Design on the childrens series Annedroids.

Matts skills were honed as a set designer working for acclaimed Production Designers such as Tamara Deverell, Martin Whist, Oliver Scholl, Jon Billington, and also for Tom Sanders on the Guillermo Del Toro film Crimson Peak (2015), which was nominated by the Art Directors Guild for Excellence in Production Design.
