Carroll Chiramel, an Indo-Canadian editor, producer, and director, is a distinguished alumnus of the Canadian Film Centre (CFC) 2022 Norman Jewison Film Program. His journey in the world of film began as an editor in the Indian Film and TV industry in Mumbai in 2000 before he relocated to Canada in 2010. This unique blend of experiences in both Indian and Canadian cinema has honed his keen sense of storytelling, resulting in exceptional works that resonate with audiences worldwide. Throughout his career in the Canadian film and TV industry, Carroll has achieved remarkable success with various projects. Notably, his feature film "Under the Sun" garnered the audience choice award at the 2015 Mill Valley Film Festival in California. Additionally, his works have been featured on platforms like Super Channel and Amazon Prime, with the feature film "Dance Together and Famous" being one of the highlights. Carroll's talent and dedication to his craft have been recognized through numerous accolades. His edited award-winning short film "Forbidden Tikka Masala" secured seven international awards, including recognition at the Edmonton International Film Festival 2018, an OSCAR Qualifying Film Festival, and TIFF Film Circuit. Furthermore, his short film "Meet the Parents" earned the Best Short Film title at the African Movie Academy Awards in 2016. He collaborated with writer-director Lu Asfaha and edited her short film "Sight" which was selected for the esteemed Fantasia Film Festival 2023. His films have been showcased at renowned festivals such as the Toronto Short Film Festival, Toronto Black Film Festival, Edmonton International Film Festivals, Mill Valley Film Festival, and Milledgeville Film Festival, among others. As a testament to his versatility, Carroll has also ventured into producing several short films. His last edited TV Series titled "Potluck Ladies’ airing on YesTV and Hollywood Suites received the Best Series Award in the Independent Pilot Competition at the 2024 Seriesfest, Denver. His latest project is an animatronic series called Go Togo for CBC Kids. With a perfect balance of traditional and contemporary filmmaking techniques, Carroll brings a unique touch to each of his projects, ensuring that they reach their full potential. His proficiency in postproduction has led him to establish a successful studio in GTA, providing top-notch services to various producers, including editing, visual effects, and color grading.
