Permittee Logbook Holders are Non-Members registered in the Permittee Logbook Holder Program. Being a Permittee Logbook Holder means an individual has taken the pre-requisite courses to join the program and has a minimum of 30 days of PA Helper experience under the DGC BC Collective Agreement. A Permittee Logbook Holder has taken the first step toward DGC BC Associate Membership.

To be eligible to join the Permittee Logbook Holder Program, the following is required:

  • Resume
  • Driver’s License (or other photo ID)
  • Proof of eligibility to work in Canada as a Production Assistant (birth certificate, valid passport, permanent residency paperwork, or valid work visa)
  • Proof of 30 days of PA Helper work in the last 5 years under the DGC BC Collective Agreement (paystubs required) OR proof of enrollment or graduation from a recognized British Columbia Film Program (within the past 5 years)
  • Proof of successful completion of Motion Picture Industry Orientation (MPIO)
  • Proof of successful completion of Anti-Bullying & Harassment (Actsafe) 
  • Proof of successful completion of WHMIS
  • Proof of successful completion of Motion Picture Safety Awareness (Actsafe)
  • Valid BC Traffic Control Certificate (must be completed through the BCCSA or Universal Health and Safety)

Application Process:

  • Once you have met all requirements listed above you can fill in an application form via Wufoo (linked below).
  • After submitting your completed application, an automated confirmation email outlining next steps will be sent via Wufoo to the email provided in the application.
  • Within 2-3 business days of submission, you will be contacted by the Program Administrator.
  • If the application is successful, you will be emailed instructions on scheduling a mandatory, 1 hour virtual Intake Session via Zoom.
  • Once you have successfully completed the Zoom intake session, you will receive a welcome email which will include your fully executed Permittee Contracts, Logbook Number, virtual Logbook, and other resources.

If you are a current student in a recognized BC Film Program you may be able to defer the 30 day work requirement. Please contact the office to see if your Program qualifies. Click here to fill in the Student Registration Form (required for upload if you are a current student deferring the 30 days).

How do I become an Associate Member?
