For over 30 years Deborah has been working in the arts with creators, performers, crews, professional organizations, government institutions, equipment manufacturers, broadcasters and students. Her career began in theatre and opera stage management, evolving to production of theatrical films, TV series, movies, documentaries and live-to-air programming. Her wide range of experience in executive, creative, administrative and crew positions has supported many live productions and a variety of award-winning programming for major networks and distributors in North America and Europe, working as an AD, PM, Post Production Exec. and Producer. In addition, she has worked for the Motion Picture Bond Company as Post Production Risk Manager, a PM for IMAX DMR projects, and as Production Planning Exec at CBC. Deborah's career evolved with major technical innovations in all aspects of production from film and videotape to High Definition, 3D, file based workflows and the internet resulting in industry recognition as an SME in a range of production areas and the integration of multi-disciplinary teams. She has also taken leadership roles on productions in innovative training initiatives, curricula development for academic courses, and presenting seminars and workshops, as well as authoring articles for industry publications. Deborah's incorporation of u201cDesign Thinkingu201d as a strategy for developing unique techniques and innovative solutions brings together the skills necessary to compliment creative and improve technical expertise. It also provides the tools to implement change, encourage teamwork, take risks, and optimize business models to yield results that exceed expectations for successful theatre, film and television productions and converging media.
