DEANNE FOLEY is a Canadian director\/ writer hailing from St. John's, Newfoundland. Her debut feature film, BEAT DOWN, starring Marthe Bernard (Republic of Doyle) & Robb Wells (Trailer Park Boys), garnered three Canadian Comedy Award nominations including Best Direction, Best Actor, and Best Actress. Her sophomore feature, RELATIVE HAPPINESS, a romantic comedy, was nominated for both Best Picture at the 2015 Directors Guild of Canada awards and Whistler Film Festival BORSOS Best Canadian Feature award while picking up Best Actress awards at both the 16th L.A. Comedy Festival and Toronto Canadian Film Festival in 2015. In 2014, Deanne directed two episodes for CBC hit one-hour drama, REPUBLIC OF DOYLE season six, and was selected for the highly regarded TIFF Talent Lab. Deanne has been honored by the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council and named Artist of the Year for 2015. In 2017, she will be directing her next feature film, AN AUDIENCE OF CHAIRS, based on the acclaimed novel by Joan Clarke. She is a member of the Directors Guild of Canada, Writers Guild of Canada and is currently repped by Glenn Cockburn, Kerry Ball & Courtenay Bainbridge, Meridian Artists in Toronto.
