2007 DGC Awards Winners List Sarah Polley's Away From Her leads 2007 DGC Awards 
Toronto - September 30, 2007 - The 2007 Directors Guild of Canada Awards brought out the film and television industry's best and brightest to last night's event at The Carlu in Toronto. The star-studded celebration kicked-off with a cocktail reception before funnyman Peter Keleghan inaugurated the sixthannual awards ceremony to honour the best work created by DGC members last year.
"I am honoured to be a member of the Directors Guild of Canada and share in this evening when wecelebrate our own talent," said Norman Jewison. The acclaimed director handed out the evening's top prize to Sarah Polley, for her direction of the highly praised feature film Away From Her. The Lifetime Achievement Award went to pioneering director, Paul Almond (Seven Up, Isabel, October Beach). A total of 19 team and individual craft awards were presented to DGC members whose incredible work continues to fortify the quality of filmmaking in Canada.
