Time for a little star gazing at the 2004 Directors Guild of Canada Awards The spotlight will be on film industry personalities like Denys Arcand, Leslie Nielsen, Arthur Hiller, Nicholas Campbell and Mary Walsh at The Carlu on October 2 The place to be on Saturday, October 2, at 6 pm is the 2004 Directors Guild of Canada Awards at The Carlu in downtown Toronto. That's where you'll find 500 industry insiders, including the directors and actors listed above. The Directors Guild of Canada Awards has grown, in just three short years, to one of the industry's not-to-be-missed events. Hosted this year by the incomparable Mary Walsh, the evening promises, from the cocktails to the incredible meal and dessert catered by Daniel et Daniel, to be unforgettable. One of the high points of the evening will be when renowned actor Leslie Nielsen presents childhood friend Arthur Hiller (Love Story, Plaza Suite) with the DGC's Lifetime Achievement Award. A total of 19 team and individual craft awards will be presented to DGC members whose incredible work has entertained Canadians over the last year.
